Van Harvey, sum bæði er gudfrøðingur og skeptikari, skrivar hetta áhugaverda brotið í eini bók hjá ateistiska Prometheus bóka útgevaranum:
‘I do not believe that the historic significance
of this professionalization of knowledge of the Bible should be underestimated.
Indeed, it constitutes an enormous wrench in the consciousness of Western
humanity. Hitherto, the Bible, and especially the New Testament, has provided
the fundamental text that has shaped the morality and ethics of Western
culture…New Testament scholarship threatens to alienate the Western
consciousness from one of its most cherished assumptions’ (Van A. Harvey’s New
Testament Scholarship and Christian Belief, 198, in Jesus in History and Myth,
ed. R. Joseph Hoffmann and Gerald A. Larue, Prometheus Books, 1986).

Tað er einum og hvørjum frítt at viðmerkja og kritisera, men bannan, persónlig álop, og niðring kunnu verða strika.
Verður ákæra reist um óerligheit ella lygn, eigur viðmerkjarin ikki at verða duldur.
Trøll og persónar sum bevíst royna at eitra kjakið fáa ikki longur loyvi at luttaka.
